We design exquisite hand-printed textiles with Judaic motifs, including tablecloths, tapestries, wall-hangings, challah covers, and other table linens. These beautiful works of art can be used for the Sabbath, Passover, Sukkot, Chanukah, special occasions, or every day.  Each item is washable and does not need ironing. They are handmade using Old World methods, pure natural fabrics, and dyes in jewel-tone colors that complement every decor.

The art of block-printing textiles is ancient in origin and gives the appearance of antique textiles. Hand printed cotton has been used for the famous fabrics of Provence, known as "Les Indiennes," beginning in the 17th century. Herodotus sang their virtues, Alexander the Great carried some home, and Portuguese voyagers packed as many as could fit into their ships. Artists working in the Arts and Crafts style, like William Morris, used hand block printing to produce many of their textile designs.  The same vibrant colors and small, regularly spaced motifs are used in our works of art, but designed with timeless Judaic symbols like the menora, the tree of life, the hamsa, the Jewish Star, and the ancient city of Jerusalem.

These lovely linens are all designed by two brothers, Yosef and Shlomo Yekutiel. They were born in Herat, an ancient Jewish community in Afghanistan. Yosef is now living in L.A, and Shlomo is unilaterally raising funds to repair and restore ancient synagogues in Afghanistan, risking his life to make trips there. As  children, Yosef and Shlomo were fascinated watching fine craftsmen at work. They dreamed of one day producing such works incorporating Jewish motifs. Their travels took them to Jewish communities in Central Asia and the Far East. It was on one such trip to India that they set up their own workshop, employing local artisans whose families had been producing fine textiles for over 300 years. Yosef and Shlomo personally create each new design, from the hand-carving of intricate woodblocks to the mixing of the color-fast dyes. Then each work of art is individually printed, by hand, sometimes requiring four-dozen different woodblocks.

Although no two tablecloths are exactly alike, it is their very uniqueness that makes each item an heirloom piece, something that you will treasure and use for generations. These tablecloths are works of art. They are a perfect melding of craftsmanship and design - Judaic art created for every day use in the modern world.
